Pioneer Families Worker
The Pioneer Families Worker will nurture, develop, and oversee children and families ministry at Andover Methodist Church, while also pioneering a new expression of church and community engagement among families on the Picket Twenty housing development.
The role combines pastoral care, missional outreach, community building, and faith exploration, with a particular focus on families who may have little or no prior connection to church. The post holder will help create welcoming, inclusive, and relational spaces where faith can be explored naturally and safely.
Andover Methodist Church
Andover Methodist Church is a growing Church in the heart of the town centre. We have a regular number of families attending and we want to make sure we give them the best we can. The Pioneer Families Worker will run Sunday morning activities and teaching, alongside volunteers, and help grow the work that is happening here midweek.
Picket Twenty
Picket Twenty is a new (ish) housing development in the south of the Town. Still being built there are 1200 homes at present and no church expression. Our minister, Revd. Andy Fitchet, started an outreach in 2019 which sadly didn't survive the pandemic. We are looking at how to reach new people in a new way on the development. The Pioneer Families Worker will lead on this work, working alongside the Minister.
